(R.A.C.E.S.)


Homeland Security has placed many new requirements on Emergency Management Divisions since 9/11/2001. One of these requirements is to use an Incident Command System (ICS) in particular the National Incident Management System (NIMS). To meet this goal for Wasthenaw County and its local governmental units the following phase in of required training was adopted at the last R.A.C.E.S. E-comm training course (June 13, 2007).

Procedure to apply for R.A.C.E.S. credentials

  1. Make two copies of your Amateur Radio License

  2. Call the Washtenaw County Office of Emergency Management at 734-973-4900 to set up an appointment to:

  3. Mail the other copy of your Amateur Radio License and Certificates to the Ben Pinette KC8NIY Washtenaw County Deputy EC/RO find address here.

  4. When you receive your R.A.C.E.S. credential by mail please start checking into the Wednesday night R.A.C.E.S. net at 8:00PM on the 146.920 repeater. (looking forward to hearing you on the air!)
